Kencon Environmental is a USA environmental consulting company established to provide consulting services in the areas of agriculture and the environment.  The company is also registered and incorporated in Sierra Leone as a limited liability private company. Kencon Environmental (SL) Ltd is registered with and approved by the Sierra Leone Environmental Protection Agency (EPA-SL) to conduct Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessments (ESHIAs) in Sierra Leone.

For over 10 years, Kencon Environmental has been providing environmental and agricultural services to its clients (private & public) in the areas of  climate change plus the water-energy-food nexus, environmental management and capacity building, ESHIAs, solid and hazardous waste management and cleanup, energy & the environment, mining, ecosystem resource management, public health and the environment, and risk assessments.  We have provided consulting services to government and industry on a variety of cross-sector and life-impacting topics such as developing climate change policies, strategies, and programs, providing climate smart agricultural training & services, developing risk assessment strategies and software programs, developing environmental and social management plans for industry clients, and conducting environmental impact analysis, etc.

Kencon Environmental is committed to providing sustainable environmental solutions to all of its clients by ensuring that the solutions meet specific customer needs and are consistent with the long-term interests of the environment.

To achieve this, we employ and/or partner with highly qualified and experienced team members that will assist with in-depth research, proactive design, effective implementation, and long-term support for all of our clients’ needs. From initial site evaluations and environmental assessments to intrusive investigations and remedial operations, every aspect of environmental consulting and land management can be undertaken by Kencon Environmental. 

Executives

DAVID M KARGBO, PHD

Dr.  David Kargbo is Founder of Kencon Environmental, Inc.  Dr. Kargbo is Founder of Kencon Environmental, directs the NGO, EnviroOne, and an adjunct associate professor of environmental engineering at Temple University.  He was awarded a UN fellowship to the USA and holds MS and PhD degrees in Agronomy from the University of Nebraska.  Dr. Kargbo directed the first Groundwater Program in Washington, DC and was appointed Senior Soil Scientist at the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) for 21 years. Dr. Kargbo has received numerous awards including; a 2012 Gold Medal, 2011 Scientific and Technological Achievement Award, and a 2003 Bronze Medal from the USEPA for his outstanding contribution to research, technology transfer, and outreach. Dr. Kargbo has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and serves on the editorial boards of internationally acclaimed peer reviewed journals.  In 2010, Dr. Kargbo was inducted into Marquis “Who Is Who In America”.

PRINCE V. SUALLEY, BS

Mr. Prince V Sualley, Director of Marketing & Business Development.  Mr. Sually is Kencon Environmental’s Director of Marketing & Business Development.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Sualley holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, University College in the United States. Since his return to his home country of Sierra Leone in 2004, he has held several positions in the private sector notably as Chief Operating Officer of The Leone Development Group Ltd Sierra Leone.  He currently sits on the Executive Board of The National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone and serves as its Director of Finance.  Mr. Sualley’s knowledge and understanding of the business climate in Sierra Leone is an added asset to Kencon Environmental and its clients.

AUGUSTINE KEBBIE, MS

Mr. Augustine Kebbie, Environmental Health & Safety Specialist & Head of Community Relations.  Mr. Kebbie is Director of Community Relations Program at Kencon Environmental. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors.. Mr. Kebbie is a senior Public Health Program Analyst in the Department of Public Health and Intellectual Disability Services, in Philadelphia USA for over 25 years.  He received his MS in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia, in 1993; and holds a graduate Certificate in Public Health in 1996 from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.  Mr. Kebbie is an experienced solution-driven professional in project management, monitoring and evaluation of public health programs, including implementing solutions to public health problems.

DANIEL B KOROMA, PHD

Dr. Daniel Koroma, Senior Scientist & Head of Technical Operations.  Dr. Koroma is a member of Kencon Environmental’s Board of Directors and heads the technical operations at Kencon Environmental.  He is an Environmental Policy Analyst with the Department of Ecology in Washington State.  Dan holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Economics (University of Reading), a Masters in Agricultural Economics (University of Nebraska), and a Ph.D. in Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences (Washington State University

KEN JENNINGS, PHD

Dr. Ken Jennings, Head of International Programs. Dr. Jennings is an expert environmental scientist and geologist with background that combines corporate, government, consulting and academic experience over 30 years. His specialty is applying environmental science and engineering to promote innovative, sustainable development primarily but not exclusively in Africa and Asia.  Over the past 3 years, he has spoken in Africa, the EU and the US on innovative African solutions to energy, energy security and recently deploying micro grid. He also teaches environmental management to graduate students, focusing on technologies for hazardous and solid waste management. He is also active in a mining project in Tanzania, an oil shale project in China, and a sustainable agriculture project in Sierra Leone. 

D. KOFI ASANTE-DUAH, PHD

Dr. Asante-Duah is Chief Innovation Specialist at Kencon Environmental and Chief Science Advisor for Department of Energy & Environment in Washington, DC, USA. Dr. Asante-Duah received his C.E., Civil & Environmental Engineering, Utah State University, USA; a Ph.D. in Hydrology & Water Management, Technical University of Budapest, Hungary, and M.Sc. in Engineering Hydrology from the National University of Ireland. In addition to his numerous peer-reviewed articles, he has authored nine world acclaimed books in the areas of risk assessment, management of contaminated sites, and international trade in hazardous waste. He was a World Bank’s Robert S. McNamara Fellow; a Visiting Research Scholar/Fellow, Institute for Risk Research, Canada; a 1984 UNESCO Fellow and twice received the 1st Place Award Winner at the ASCE National Hazardous Waste Essay Competition.

PAUL KOROMA, MSC

Mr. Paul Koroma, head of agricultural activities. Mr. Koroma holds a Master’s degree in agriculture from Patrice Lumumba Friendship University, Moscow, USSR. Paul has worked for 36 years with government institutions and integrated donor-funded development projects in various parts of Sierra Leone. He was Deputy Project Manager in the Northern Integrated Agricultural Development Project, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Food Security in Sierra Leone and the Assistant Project Coordinator in the AfDB-funded Agriculture Sector Rehabilitation Project (ASREP). Farmers have benefited tremendously from his activities as the head of EnviroOne agriculture program.

SALLY B KARGBO, BSN, RN

Ms. Sally Kargbo, Executive VP & Specialist on Environmental Health.  Sally holds a BS (Biology) from Njala University, Sierra Leone and a BS (Nursing) degree from Holly Family University.  Sally is a Registered Nurse at Temple University Hospital and has over 20 years of experience in the health field .  She currently works with our technical folks in public health, health & safety, and the overall area of environmental risk assessment.

MARK NASTASI, MBA

Mr. Mark Nastasi, Head of Information Technology (IT). Mark Nastasi is a key member of Kencon Environmental.  He is head of IT operations and leads the irrigation smart valve team in software engineering and robitics development.  He is also a board member of Kencon Environmental.  Mark has over 18 years of computer software engineering and is highly skilled in robotics engineering, Andriod Phone Application development, and sensor technologies. He holds a Bachelor’s from Rutgers University School of Business with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Management Information Systems and a Master’s Degree from Drexel University.  He developes leading legal management software applications, and founded CobbleStone Systems, a computer software company.
